About the Role

The Inpatient Float Psychiatrist provides psychiatric care as part of a multidisciplinary team in the treatment of patients in Maine Behavioral Healthcare's inpatient units. This role involves covering the responsibilities of an inpatient psychiatrist during their absence, ensuring continuity of care for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the treatment team and plan pharmacologic and therapeutic interventions for patients.
  • Provide medical leadership to multidisciplinary teams in the treatment of patients across the continuum of care.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients, including pharmacologic and therapeutic interventions.
Requirements
  • Graduate of Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical School.
  • Completion of internship and psychiatric residency and/or fellowship training.
  • Current/Eligible licensure as a physician by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine.
  • Board Certified or board eligible in general psychiatry.
  • Current DEA Registration Certificate.
  • 3+ years of experience, inclusive of residency and/or fellowship training.
