Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team on a PRN basis. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating and conducting medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs. Your expertise will be essential in providing educational information to patients on injury prevention, ergonomics, restorative therapy, and rehabilitation therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs
  • Provide educational information to patients on injury prevention, ergonomics, restorative therapy, and rehabilitation therapy
  • Supervise physical therapy assistants and aides in performing treatment
  • Report to the Director - Rehab Services or Program Director - IRU
  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition
  • Establish a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires
  • Plan, prepare, and carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, and prevent physical dysfunction in patients
  • Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient
  • Direct and supervise physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel
  • Administer treatment involving application of physical agents, using equipment, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines
  • Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications
  • Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy - Required
  • Master's degree - Preferred
  • Certifications: BLS certification from approved American Heart Association or American Red Cross training center must be obtained within 90 days of employment, if not current upon hire
  • Physical Therapist State of Tennessee Physical Therapist Licensure - Required
  • One year experience as Physical Therapist - Preferred
