Dental Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Assistant to join our team at First Choice Community Healthcare. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our dental services operation.
Key Responsibilities- Assist dentists and dental hygienists in the performance of dental procedures, including operative, preventive, periodontal, endodontic, prosthetic, and oral surgical procedures.
- Prepare and maintain dental equipment and supplies, ensuring compliance with established protocols and procedures.
- Coordinate day-to-day patient administration, records management, and office support activities.
- Monitor and maintain dental equipment, including compressors, evacuator systems, radiographic developing equipment, sterilizers, and light curing units.
- Expose and process dental radiographs in accordance with provider orders, ensuring adherence to radiation safety procedures and protocols.
- Follow and maintain all relevant federal, state, and institutional regulations, guidelines, policies, and standards for the provision of dental clinical services.
- Order and maintain inventories of dental clinic supplies.
- Interact with and process dental clinic patients, performing telephone triage, conducting patient interviews, and obtaining prior approvals from third-party payors.
- Maintain dental laboratory slips and create and maintain dental records in accordance with established protocol and procedures.
- High School graduate or GED certificate required.
- Graduation from an ADA recognized certificate program is preferred.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish is preferred.
- Work experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified is strongly preferred.
This position requires frequent opportunities to relax from physical exertion or to change position in work activities. Good dexterity is required to operate personal computers and basic medical and laboratory equipment. Moderate physical activity is involved, including handling average-weight objects up to 25 pounds and standing/walking for more than four hours per day.
This position may require travel throughout the Albuquerque metropolitan area. Work is mostly inside a clinic in a controlled environment, with normal clinic safety precautions and practices required.
