Supervisor: Security Program Manager
Compensation: $21.00-$24.00 Per Hour
Overview
Under the guidance of the SSG Division Director and Security Program Manager, the Safety and Security Specialist is tasked with ensuring the protection and well-being of both staff and clients at the HOPICS facilities. Responsibilities encompass the management of client interactions, safeguarding personnel, assessing security requirements, fostering relationships with local law enforcement, and handling crisis situations effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with residents to monitor behavior and foster positive relationships through exemplary customer service.
- Oversee access control at the main entrance, screening all individuals using metal detectors to prevent unauthorized items.
- Conduct health screenings for COVID-19 compliance, recording temperatures as necessary.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to de-escalate potential conflicts and maintain thorough documentation of incidents.
- Perform regular patrols throughout the facility, including common areas and private spaces.
- Complete all required documentation, including daily activity reports and incident logs, prior to the end of each shift.
- Contact emergency services as needed and promptly report any safety concerns or unusual occurrences to management.
- Manage administrative tasks at the operations desk, including monitoring surveillance systems and alarm notifications.
- Assist in fire safety and evacuation procedures as outlined in emergency protocols.
- Ensure compliance with safety measures and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience in a security-related role.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Guard Card from the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services.
- Certification in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with diverse populations.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Working Conditions
This role involves both office and fieldwork, with exposure to various environmental conditions and the potential for interaction with aggressive individuals.
Physical Requirements
Must be capable of performing tasks that include sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Mental Requirements
The position requires the ability to manage distractions and prioritize tasks effectively.
