Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Utility Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing semi-skilled installation, maintenance, and repair of valves, meters, gauges, pumps, and associated equipment used in water distribution systems or wastewater collection systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance and repair of equipment and systems
- Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment
- Load and unload equipment, chemicals, and supplies at worksites and storage areas
- Operate medium construction equipment under supervision
- Adhere to safety and security operating policies and procedures
- Perform ground keeping and custodial work as assigned
- Resolve routine problems and notify management of issues outside scope of responsibility
- Read meters as needed
- Update and maintain documentation of work activities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No previous experience required, but mechanical and/or electrical experience is preferred
- Valid US driver's license
- Familiarity with computers and work systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- May be subject to extreme temperatures, noise, and hazardous conditions
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Working conditions may include travel to work sites
