Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Utility Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing semi-skilled installation, maintenance, and repair of valves, meters, gauges, pumps, and associated equipment used in water distribution systems or wastewater collection systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair of equipment and systems
  • Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment
  • Load and unload equipment, chemicals, and supplies at worksites and storage areas
  • Operate medium construction equipment under supervision
  • Adhere to safety and security operating policies and procedures
  • Perform ground keeping and custodial work as assigned
  • Resolve routine problems and notify management of issues outside scope of responsibility
  • Read meters as needed
  • Update and maintain documentation of work activities
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • No previous experience required, but mechanical and/or electrical experience is preferred
  • Valid US driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with computers and work systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Working Conditions:
  • May be subject to extreme temperatures, noise, and hazardous conditions
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Working conditions may include travel to work sites
