Bon Secours is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Obstetrics team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyzing data to create a plan of care and implementing nursing interventions as needed.
- Provide episodic and inpatient obstetrical care, administering medications safely and coordinating care within hospital departments.
- Act as a patient safety advocate, participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and applying knowledge of contemporary obstetrical nursing practice.
- Apply the nursing process in the care of women during pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and other women's health issues, as well as the neonate from birth until discharge.
- Collaborate with others in the delivery of coordinated patient care, utilizing strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Current RN license in the state in which you are working or covered by compact.
- BLS Basic Life Support certification, with ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support and NRP Neonatal Resuscitation Program certifications preferred.
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification and Inpatient OB Certification also preferred.
- 1 year of RN experience, with recent OB, ED, or critical care experience preferred.
As a Registered Nurse with Bon Secours, you will work in a fast-paced environment with periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads. You may be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse, and may be required to use physical restraints. You will also be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights, and may have periods of constant interruptions.
Physical RequirementsYou will be required to lift and carry patients, push and pull equipment, and stand for long periods of time. You will also be required to use manual dexterity, perform shift work, and maneuver the weight of patients.
