Ultrasound Tech Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ultrasound Tech to join our healthcare team in Waterloo, IA, for a 13-week contract. The ideal candidate will be registered and/or trained in General, OB/GYN, and Vascular ultrasound imaging.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general, OB/GYN, and vascular ultrasound imaging, including abdomen, small parts, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester OB (non high-risk) for dating, measurements, BPPs, and fetal anatomy scans.
  • Conduct transabdominal and transvaginal gynecologic imaging, upper and lower venous doppler, lower arterial doppler, ABIs, aorta duplex, carotid arterial doppler, and hepatic and renal doppler imaging exams.
  • Assist with fine needle aspirations, paracentesis, and thoracentesis procedures as needed.
  • Ensure high-quality imaging and diagnostic accuracy.
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort during procedures.
  • Document patient information and imaging results accurately.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and weekend shifts as required.
Requirements:
  • Registered or trained in General, OB/GYN, and Vascular ultrasound.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in ultrasound imaging.
  • Certification in ARDMS and Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Experience in assisting with fine needle aspirations, paracentesis, and thoracentesis procedures is strongly encouraged.
  • Prior travel experience is encouraged.
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
