Job Overview

Position: CNC Machining Specialist

Compensation: $25-29/hr. (based on experience)

Available Shifts:

  • Day Shift: Monday - Friday (7am to 3pm)
  • Evening Shift: Monday - Thursday (3pm to 1am)

Role Summary:

  • The CNC Machining Specialist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC Mills and Lathes to produce both metallic and non-metallic components.

Key Qualifications:

  • Ability to set up and operate various CNC machinery with minimal oversight.
  • Proficient in a range of controls (Mazak, Fanuc, etc.) and capable of performing manual CNC program adjustments as necessary.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings, with a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances as per ANSI Y-14.5 standards.
  • Experience in inspecting produced work (initial piece and in-process checks) using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, and dial calipers to ensure compliance with specifications, maintaining tolerances as tight as 0.002" over 55" diameter.
  • Document inspection outcomes on provided IDS Sheets and/or Inspection Prints where applicable.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of equipment (machines, gauges, tools, etc.) and ensure a tidy work environment.
  • Adhere to preventative maintenance protocols on machinery as directed by supervisors and report any operational issues.
  • Keep detailed records of daily activities to ensure adherence to job standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and management in a team-focused setting, providing assistance and training to other staff as needed.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required to meet customer demands.
  • May be required to operate forklifts and safely handle products weighing up to 2 tons.
  • Physical capability to stand, twist, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, with the ability to perform coordinated actions using hands and vision.
  • Work practices must align with company policies, including attendance, confidentiality, safety, and substance abuse regulations.
  • May be asked to follow additional job-related instructions and perform other tasks as required, in compliance with applicable laws.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC Mills and Lathes, utilizing knowledge of machining processes for a diverse range of materials including stainless steel, Monel, Hastalloy, nickel alloys, cast iron, carbon steel, bronze, aluminum, and plastics.
  • Produce components within designated time frames outlined in job travelers.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction with both products and services.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements and collaborate with CNC Programmers to enhance processes, programs, and cutting tools.
  • Adopt a proactive approach to continuous improvement in productivity, quality, safety, environmental practices, and ergonomics.

While not mandatory, the following skills and qualifications are advantageous:
