Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Painter to join our team. As a Commercial Painter, you will be responsible for applying coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply paint and coatings to surfaces using brushes, spray guns, or paint rollers.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, or using sandblasting equipment.
  • Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler.
  • Select and mix paints to match specified colors.
  • Remove fixtures and coverings from walls prior to painting.
  • Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
  • Measure and cut strips from roll of wallpaper or fabric.
  • Mix paste to desired consistency and apply to back of wallpaper or fabric.
  • Place paste-coated strips on wall or ceiling to match adjacent edges.
  • Smooth strips with dry brush or felt-covered roller to remove wrinkles and bubbles.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalency required.
  • 1-3 years painting experience preferred.
  • Driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and blueprints required.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's required.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations required.
  • Must be able to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to work as a team and independently required.
  • Ability to work at heights from a ladder and a lift required.
  • Ability to be available for flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends, and/or nights required.
Work Environment

The work environment for this position will involve working in various settings, including high, precarious places, and outside weather conditions. You will be exposed to fumes and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise levels.
