Firelands Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities- Pleasantly greet patients, introduce yourself, and confirm their identification.
- Prepare patients for x-ray by having them gown appropriately as needed.
- Utilize hospital computer systems to retrieve information, export images, review images, verify data, perform order entry, and complete exam records.
- Receive order requests, checking for special instructions, and consult with Radiologists as needed.
- Prepare rooms, equipment, and imaging materials as needed for patients.
- Assist patients at the end of procedures, ensuring they are taken to the correct location.
- Explain procedures to patients and position them for all needed views.
- Select and operate equipment as directed, following prescribed techniques in administering x-rays.
- Observe patients and machines during procedures and report any unusual occurrences.
- Perform patient assessments to assist Radiologists during interpretation.
- Knowledge of patient needs according to age group and ability to modify care accordingly.
- Lift, move, and transport patients via wheelchair or cart.
- Assist with clerical and front office duties as needed.
- Identify problems and communicate them to immediate supervisors, offering solutions as appropriate.
- Clean and disinfect x-ray rooms and equipment.
- Maintain stock supplies for assigned rooms or work areas.
- Use lead shields to protect patients from X-ray exposure and wear film badges at all times.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Student in final year (or graduate) in a formal radiologic technology training program.
- Current General X-ray Machine Operator license with the Ohio Department of Health.
- Current certification in CPR, with bi-annual recertification.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- Proper body mechanics and ability to push, pull, and/or lift patients.
