Job Summary:

At Capability Health and Human Services, we are seeking a highly skilled Speech Therapist to join our team. As a Speech Therapist, you will play a critical role in helping our clients develop or regain physical or mental functioning by implementing programs to improve speech delays, conditions, and feeding issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Therapy Programs: Develop ideas, plans, and procedures for initiation, expansion, improvement, and evaluation of therapy programs.
  • Evaluate and Assess Patients: Complete initial evaluations and re-evaluations for patients in the program; examine the condition of patients and analyze their needs; determine the need for a speech/language/feeding therapy evaluation and select and administer appropriate assessment tools to evaluate the patient.
  • Interpret Evaluation Data and Write Reports: Interpret evaluation data and write comprehensive reports that reflect strengths and barriers to client participation; direct program development; and guide evidence-based intervention.
  • Prepare Reports and Attend Case Meetings: Prepare reports and attend multidisciplinary case meetings to decide and review the continuing treatment.
  • Maintain Clinical and Administrative Records: Maintain clinical and administrative records in accordance with professional standards, state guidelines, and agency system policy; adhere to federal and state regulations, and policies that affect speech/language pathology practice.
  • Manage Case Assignment: Manage case assignment dictated at the discretion of Capability Health's needs in the Early Intervention and outpatient clinic programs.
  • Exercise Professional Ethics: Use professional Code of Ethics and standards of practice to guide ethical decision making in practice.
  • Maintain Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion pertaining to the work environment.
  • Participate in Continuing Education: Participate in continuing education for professional development to ensure practice consistent with best practice and to meet Nevada Licensure requirements.
  • Participate in Staff Meetings: Participate in monthly staff meetings; attend staff trainings.

Requirements:

  • Initial Certification: Initial certification by National Board for Speech Language Pathology required.
  • Current License: Current Speech Therapy License from the State of Nevada required.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with children using knowledge of treatment practices per discipline required.
  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certifications required.
  • Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license required.
  • Knowledge of Legislation: Knowledge of the federal, state, local legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures that mandate and guide occupational therapy in practice required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) required.
