About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Neutronics & Safety Analysis Engineer to join our team in Lynchburg, VA. As a key member of our PWR Codes & Methods Development Business Line in the Fuel Business Unit, you will be responsible for performing steady state initializations on core and system models for pre-transient conditions, executing coupled models to simulate a chapter 15 transient in accordance with a new Framatome methodology, analyzing and documenting results, programming new or revising existing codes and automation tools associated with coupled safety analyses, and working with multi-disciplinary teams to support interfacing with other engineering teams to ensure successful customer delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Perform steady state initializations on core and system models for pre-transient conditions
  • Execute coupled models to simulate a chapter 15 transient in accordance with a new Framatome methodology
  • Analyze and document results
  • Program new or revise existing codes and automation tools associated with coupled safety analyses
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams to support interfacing with other engineering teams to ensure successful customer delivery
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a BS in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering degree, and at least 3 years of experience in an engineering role. You will also need to have experience with pressurized water reactors and the neutronic and thermal-hydraulic response during transients, as well as built and executed core or system models for light water reactors.
