We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) to join our team for an immediate travel opening in Summerville, SC.
Job Summary:As an IR Tech, you will be responsible for operating fluoroscopic equipment and assisting physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. You will also be responsible for preparing and observing patients undergoing procedures and reporting any abnormal activity.
Key Responsibilities:- Confirm patient identification and review imaging requests
- Explain procedures to patients and provide reassurance and support as needed
- Assist in scrubbing diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Monitor patients during procedures
- Demonstrate knowledge of radiation protection standards and techniques
- Operate intravenous (I.V.) and dye injector pumps
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
- 1 year of experience in acute care
- ARRT (R) National Certification and state-specific licensing when required
- Vascular Interventional certificate preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification
IR Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
