Combat Engineer Specialist

Combat engineers play a crucial role in military operations, providing expertise in mobility, countermobility, survivability, and general engineering. They work in teams to tackle challenging terrain and ensure the success of missions.
Key Responsibilities- Construct and maintain fighting positions, bridges, and obstacles
- Place and detonate explosives for demolition and clearance operations
- Conduct route clearance and river operations to ensure safe passage
- Prepare and install firing systems for explosives
- Detect and neutralize mines using visual inspection and mine detectors
Combat engineers undergo 14 weeks of rigorous training, including basic combat training and advanced individual training. They learn essential skills such as basic demolitions, explosive hazards, wire obstacle construction, fixed bridge building, and urban operations.
Key skills for success in this role include:
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks over long periods
- Interest in engineering and problem-solving
- Comfort working in outdoor environments
