Part Time LPN for Patient-Centered Care

We are seeking a skilled Part Time LPN to join our team at Trinity Health, where you will play a vital role in delivering patient-centered care.
Compensation and BenefitsThe estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 per year, offering flexible scheduling and premium pay. Our benefits package includes a range of perks, including learning opportunities and online self-scheduling.
Job DescriptionAbout the Role:
As a Part Time LPN, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care by implementing specific aspects of the nursing process, taking into account age-specific, maturational, cultural, and spiritual needs. You will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and demonstrate unit/area designated competencies.
- Perform specific nursing interventions as delegated by the Registered Nurse to identify and attain treatment goals.
- Obtain necessary clinical data from patients, families, or significant others.
- Use interdisciplinary plans of care as the framework for rendered care (including medication administration).
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications to patients orally, rectally, intra-muscularly, or subcutaneously.
- Monitor effects of medications; record medications given and patients' reactions.
- Venipuncture, blood cultures, bleeding times.
- Blood specimens from venipuncture, intermittent infusion devices (e.g., heplocks, saline locks).
- Start, prime, disconnect IV lines and regulate dripping.
- Tracheal suctioning, NMTs, routine oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry.
- Flush intermittent infusion devices (e.g., heplocks, saline locks) as a function of blood drawing.
- Insertion and discontinuation of indwelling urinary catheterization and intermittent clean catheterization.
- Neurovascular checks.
- Neurologic checks.
- Respond to patient requests in a timely fashion.
- Maintain knowledge of policy and procedures.
- Participate in unit activities to improve quality care.
Requirements:
- Requires active license to practice as an LPN.
- Ability to apply nursing techniques within defined responsibilities to meet patient and family needs.
- Awareness of the New York State Nurse Practice Act, the role of LPNs, and relationship to RNs.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with patients, families, and coworkers.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for over 50% of work time.
- Ability to walk and stand for approximately 51% to 80% of work time.
- Ability to lift, turn, and position patients frequently.
