This position will be responsible for overseeing Sewing operations within the Arrowhead Products composite products manufacturing department. As a stand-alone position, the Sewing Machine Operator will be responsible for performing heavy-duty sewing, normal setups, and operation of all equipment, maintaining the machine in good working order, and identifying part defects and making proper corrections.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform Heavy-Duty Sewing: Operate commercial sewing machines to produce high-quality composite products.
- Setup and Operate Equipment: Perform normal setups and operation of all equipment, maintaining the machine in good working order.
- Identify and Correct Defects: Identify part defects and make proper corrections to ensure high-quality products.
- Develop Patterns and Cut Materials: Cut and develop patterns per the blueprint and production planning specifications.
- Collaborate with M.E.: Work with the Manufacturing Engineer to develop new processes for new products.
- Record and Log Information: Record all traceability information of material used and log on shop travelers.
- Assist in Process Development: Assist the department in the development of techniques to increase productivity, quality, and throughput of products and share job knowledge in the department.
- Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Environment: Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, FOD-free fashion and adhere to all Safety standards.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; previous manufacturing experience may be substituted for education requirement.
- Experience: Minimum one (1) year experience with commercial sewing machines (all types).
- Quality Work: Ability to perform quality work in a safe and efficient manner.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Ability to interpret blueprints, work orders, and production planning documents.
- Manufacturing Measuring Instruments: Ability to use standard manufacturing measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and scales.
- Tight Tolerances: Must be capable of working with tight tolerances such as + or -.001".
- Communication: Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
