Work Schedule: Part-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately collects and documents patient health histories. Conducts thorough assessments and gathers essential health information through various methods.
- Delivers fundamental patient care as prescribed. Administers medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols. Supports healthcare professionals during examinations, diagnostic tests, and minor medical procedures while adhering to safety and confidentiality standards.
- Maintains comprehensive medical records by documenting evaluations, interventions, patient and family responses, and medication administration.
- Encourages patient wellness by providing educational resources and effectively communicating physician directives.
- Performs additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma along with a Practical Nursing degree.
Experience:
- At least one year of experience as an LPN; experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
Licensure:
- Must possess a valid state license as a practical nurse.
- Consistent and reliable attendance is crucial for this role.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. Understanding of healthcare systems, regulations, and documentation standards.
- Proficient in using medical equipment and supplies necessary for patient care.
- Awareness of infection control protocols and safety regulations.
Competencies:
- Ability to accurately interpret and follow medical orders.
- Capable of initiating emergency procedures when necessary.
- Skilled in managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Experience in performing blood draws and other clinical procedures.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- May encounter exposure to infectious diseases and biohazards.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and lift patients, with the potential to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work may involve managing stress from workload and patient interactions.
Work Environment:
- Primarily based in medical examination and treatment areas, with controlled environmental conditions.
