Job Overview

Position Summary: In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional orthopedic care to patients by adhering to optimal medical practices and maximizing provider-patient interaction. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that patients are well-prepared for their consultations and comprehensively understand their conditions, actively participating in their treatment, and receiving all necessary information, prescriptions, and educational materials to follow their care plans as directed by the healthcare provider.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Organize patient records in the electronic system to ensure all necessary documentation is completed prior to visits.
  • Access and display patients' digital imaging for physician assessment during consultations.
  • Guide patients to examination rooms and complete intake documentation in accordance with clinic protocols.
  • Prepare patients for their appointments by managing dressings, sutures, and positioning them appropriately for examinations or procedures.
  • Assist physicians during consultations with injections or minor office procedures.
  • Apply and remove casts, splints, and durable medical equipment as prescribed by the healthcare provider.
  • Educate patients on the proper usage and maintenance of casts and medical equipment.
  • Document necessary information in the electronic medical record regarding casting or equipment usage.
  • Prepare prescriptions, referral notes, and educational materials for patients.
  • Ensure patients comprehend the physician's instructions regarding medications and follow-up care.
  • Complete all required work comp status forms and ensure they are processed correctly.
  • Manage patient records with appropriate confidentiality and dispose of sensitive information securely.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and treatment areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Restock supplies in examination rooms and support areas for upcoming clinics.
  • Safeguard patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Handle phone inquiries from patients and other departments regarding patient care.
  • Assist in resolving issues within the electronic medical record system.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures set forth by Orthopaedic Solutions Management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records systems.
  • Ability to meet customer service expectations for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capability to work independently while following managerial guidance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in a clinical setting.
