ER Nurse Manager Catalina Island Healthcare

About the Role:
Catalina Island Healthcare is seeking an experienced and skilled ER Nurse Manager to lead our team in providing exceptional patient care. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our emergency department, managing staff, and implementing policies and procedures that promote high-quality care.
Responsibilities:
1. **Staff Management:** Supervise and mentor nursing staff, provide guidance and support, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
2. **Patient Care:** Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans, prioritize care based on severity and needs, and ensure adherence to clinical protocols and standards of care.
3. **Department Operations:** Develop and post work schedules, manage staffing levels, monitor patient flow, and optimize care delivery. Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
4. **Quality Improvement:** Participate in quality improvement initiatives, conduct audits, monitor performance metrics, and implement corrective actions to improve patient care and outcomes.
5. **Communication:** Act as a liaison between the nursing team, physicians, and other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Requirements:
1. **Leadership Experience:** 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in an emergency department setting.
2. **Clinical Expertise:** Current RN license, PALS, BLS/BCLS, ACLS certifications, and proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR).
3. **Management Skills:** Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, lead by example, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
4. **Teamwork:** Excellent customer service skills, ability to collaborate with others, and promote a positive work environment.
