Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

As a Production Support Specialist, you will be integral in upholding and enhancing our manufacturing processes.

  • Adhere to and promote our safety, quality, and operational protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to set up machinery and equipment for production runs.
  • Oversee production activities to detect potential issues and work with the team on necessary corrective measures.
  • Interpret MacOps program and machine schedules to ensure compliance with customer specifications and special requirements.
  • Assess incoming materials to confirm the correct dimensions of sheets.
  • Determine appropriate stacking patterns, generate load tags, and ensure proper usage of bottom sheets and tie sheets in accordance with MacOps and customer guidelines.
  • Identify non-conforming materials and report them to the machine operator.
  • Communicate any equipment issues to the operator and supervisor.
  • Maintain a tidy and safe workspace through a proactive 'clean as you go' approach.
  • Ensure all line clearance tasks are completed before initiating the next order.
  • Conduct box inspections throughout production runs to ensure quality and notify the operator of any changes.
  • Keep accurate records and verify sheet counts, dunnage, and unit appearance for all orders.
  • Monitor the pH and viscosity of ink during production runs and report any variations to the operator.
  • Engage in all aspects of the setup once preliminary tasks are completed.
  • Organize and manage the bottom sheet area at the respective machines.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability, production efficiency, and overall plant performance.
  • Identify and propose process enhancements to minimize waste and elevate product quality.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.


Qualifications

High School diploma or GED is required.

Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Proficient in reading a tape measure.

Basic mathematical skills are essential.
