KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the maintenance of hospital and clinic facilities, including electrical, plumbing, and structural repairs.
  • Replace air filters and lighting fixtures as needed.
  • Utilize testing equipment such as voltage meters and multi-meters effectively.
  • Manage landscaping and lawn care to maintain aesthetic appeal.
  • Handle the maintenance of oxygen and hydrogen gas cylinders.
  • Conduct painting and repairs for any structural issues as required.
  • Ensure proper disposal of bio-hazardous materials.
  • Maintain heating and air conditioning systems for optimal performance.
  • Assist various departments with heavy lifting or relocation tasks as necessary.
  • Ensure floors are properly stripped and waxed.
  • Be available for on-call duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in operating and maintaining tools such as power equipment, lawn care tools, and cleaning machines.
  • Intermediate skills in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work.
  • Strong knowledge of maintaining electrical systems, HVAC units, and emergency generators.
  • Ability to maintain fire alarm systems and conduct regular testing and drills.
  • Familiarity with infection control protocols and cleanliness standards.
  • Responsible use of cleaning agents and hospital resources.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Trade School Certification is preferred.
  • Previous relevant experience is advantageous.

LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and understand complex instructions related to electrical and plumbing maintenance in English.
  • Effective communication skills with English-speaking patients and staff.

MATH SKILLS:

  • Capability to calculate measurements for cleaning solutions and lawn care products.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and compute materials needed for repairs.

PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY: The employee is expected to address common issues using established standards and procedures.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The role requires regular communication in English, physical activity including standing, walking, and lifting, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to focus clearly.
