We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team as an Itinerant Special Education Teacher. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality educational services to students with special needs in a variety of settings.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide instruction and support to students in a variety of settings, including classrooms, homes, and community-based settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress and involve them in the educational process
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education
- Must possess and maintain a Special Education certification as required and established by Connecticut State Statutes
- Special Education: Comprehensive Grades K-12 Certification (165)
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff in a variety of settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
