Job Summary:

As an Apparel Design/Development Associate at Storm Creek, you will play a vital role in supporting the design and development of our product lines. You will collaborate closely with designers, the head of product, and cross-functional teams to ensure that design concepts are effectively translated into market-ready products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Department Efficiencies & Software Utilization:
  • Utilize CLO, Centric, or similar design software to create digital design assets and measurement guides, enhancing departmental efficiency.
  • Communicate design comments and feedback within the software platform, facilitating seamless collaboration between design and production teams.
  • Organize and maintain swatches, samples, fabric, Pantone colors, and dips, ensuring easy accessibility for the design team.
  • Build and maintain measurement guides in Centric or similar software, ensuring accuracy and consistency across product lines.
  • Sustainability Documentation & Tracking:
  • Manage and track ESG certifications, ensuring all relevant documentation is up-to-date and accurately recorded.
  • Be the point person for customer requests for sustainability data.
  • Design Support:
  • Assist senior designers in tasks to optimize their productivity.
  • Sketch initial design concepts based on direction provided by senior designers.
  • Assist in the development of design concepts and prototypes, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics and market needs.
  • Research & Trend Communication:
  • Conduct research on current and emerging design trends, materials, and technologies.
  • Communicate findings to the design team and contribute to the development of trend-driven product concepts.Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Fashion Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
    • Familiarity with CLO, Centric, or similar design software.
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and self-motivation.
    • Ability to sketch design concepts and communicate ideas clearly.
    • Familiarity with sustainable sourcing, ESG certification processes, and requirements.
    • Knowledge of fabric types, Pantone colors, and sample management.
    • Excellent research skills and the ability to stay updated on design trends.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Preferred Skills:
      • Experience working in a product design environment.
      • Pattern making experience.
      • Familiarity with additional design tools and software.
      • Passion for sustainable design practices and ESG initiatives.
