Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to our clinical teams, including data entry, filing, and organizing medical records.
- Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Organize paperwork and maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Upload files in a timely manner to ensure seamless communication between teams.
- Perform other business office and clinical functions as needed to support the success of our facilities.
- Act as a liaison between patients, clinical or medical teammates, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Maintain positive communications with the medical staff members and their office personnel to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within established deadlines.
- Call pre-operative patients to collect health/medical history and verify they are a candidate for outpatient surgery.
- Clear any medical concerns with the medical director to ensure patient safety and well-being.
- Maintain competencies to function in the MA role within specific areas.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed and/or requested by Manager.
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
- Comply with the SCA and facility policy and procedures.
- Notify the RN of any changes in patient's status and responses.
- Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills with members of the team and other stakeholders.
- Act as a patient advocate and maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.
- Comply with all SCA and facility policies and procedures, regulatory and accreditation standards and professional guidelines when providing patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- One year of Medical Assistant / Nursing Assistant/ Patient Care Tech experience preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant (MA)/Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Patient Care (PCT) preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
