Job Summary
We are seeking an early childhood educator to join our team in our Kindergarten Prep classroom. As a dedicated and passionate educator, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing learning environment that encourages children to explore and learn about the world around them.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development
Create and prepare engaging, creative learning activities that are both fun and educational.
Classroom ManagementManage day-to-day classroom activities, including structured lessons, student-led learning, free play, bathroom breaks, lunchtime, and rest time for students.
Collaboration and CommunicationCollaborate with teachers and leadership to foster, enhance, and provide a nurturing learning environment.
Student ProgressDevelop and maintain a constructive and ongoing rapport with students and parents.
Reporting and Record-KeepingDeliver reports on student progress to leadership.
Classroom MaintenanceMaintain a clean and organized classroom.
Flexibility and AdaptabilityBe flexible and fill in where needed.
Qualifications
- Early Childhood Experience
At least two years of experience in early childhood education is preferred.
Education and CertificationsA High School Diploma is required. A CDA (or childcare-related degree) is preferred.
Interpersonal and Organizational SkillsAbility to work with others in a team environment, accomplish tasks with independence, motivation, and responsibility, and possess strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Conflict Resolution and Problem-SolvingAbility to resolve conflicts and creatively solve problems.
Technical SkillsBasic computer proficiency and ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification, Fire and Water Safety Certification, and Background Clearances.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay rate range for this position is $16-$20, depending on background and experience. Hired staff are eligible for free childcare services for school and summer camp.
