Optical Dispenser

Covenant Physician Partners is seeking a highly skilled Optical Dispenser to join our team in Van Nuys, CA. As a key member of our community-oriented team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear, taking facial measurements, and making adjustments to ensure a proper fit.
• Interview patients to determine their visual needs and interpret refractionist's prescriptions.
• Instruct and counsel patients on proper eyeglass care and enter prescription and sales information into our computerized system.
• Verify Optical Benefit coverage and dispense and adjust optical products.
• Inspect final products for accuracy and reconcile patient concerns to their satisfaction.
• Perform daily inventory of frames and accessories, conduct shop work, and repair frames as required.
• Complete all required forms and maintain written and verbal communication with the lab.
• Provide excellent customer service and floor coordinating duties.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years' experience as a dispensing optician strongly preferred.
• Graduate of an opticianry/optician training program or on-the-job training.
• ABO Certified and licensed preferred.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is required.
• Ability to work Saturdays and possess good manual dexterity and ability to operate medical equipment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and computer skills for use with electronic medical records and inventory system.
• Ability to work with co-workers in a team setting and possess good hand-eye coordination.
• Strong aptitude for mathematics and patient with attention to detail.
