Position: Laboratory Support Specialist
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with a start time of either 7:00 AM or 7:30 AM
Key Information:

- This role involves supporting the entire Quality Control (QC) department with tasks such as procurement, sanitation, and equipment upkeep.
- A high school diploma is required, with 0-5 years of relevant experience. An associate's degree is acceptable.
- Candidates with over 10 years of experience or advanced degrees in scientific fields may be considered overqualified; this position is primarily for entry-level applicants. Candidates with a Bachelor of Arts degree seeking a career shift may also apply.
- Main duties include assisting the QC release team, which consists of approximately 40 members, by managing sample collection, inventory orders, and performing calibration maintenance.
- Training will be provided on Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for material entry and record-keeping.
- Additional training in AGILE methodologies and Oracle systems will be provided.
- We seek individuals who are eager to learn these systems and possess proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ideal candidates will be organized, self-managing, and self-motivated.
Position Summary:
The Laboratory Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining compliance within the QC Laboratories. This includes ensuring that maintenance tasks are completed for effective testing across various assay platforms in a dynamic cGMP environment, facilitating the timely release of products. Testing may involve both automated and manual methods across multiple product lines. The specialist must demonstrate good laboratory techniques and adhere to established workflows. Responsibilities also include maintaining laboratory instruments, managing inventory, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Maintain inventory of QC materials.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the laboratory, restocking supplies as necessary.
- Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of laboratory equipment, including calibration or submission for calibration as required.
- Complete training promptly and maintain accurate records.
- Manage sample collection from Quality Inspection or Manufacturing and execute necessary transactions.
- Perform analytical glassware cleaning and equipment washing.
- May oversee calibration management for pipettes, thermometers, and timers across various labs.
- Prepare documents for storage in the document management system and may manage original data files.
- Conduct cycle counts of QC materials.
- Perform regular maintenance on equipment such as water baths, incubators, and refrigerators.
- Conduct monthly maintenance on instruments like Tigris, Panther, and Fusion.
- May provide training on QC testing methods as needed.
- Assist with additional tasks to support QC teams as required.

To excel in this role, candidates must successfully fulfill each essential duty. The following qualifications are representative of the basic knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- High School Diploma or higher.
- 0-3 years of experience in a laboratory environment.
