Job Overview
The Foundation Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher Leader to join our team. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality instruction and support to students with special needs.

About the Role
This position requires a highly skilled and experienced educator who can develop and implement effective lesson plans, assess student progress, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure student success. You will be responsible for creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment that fosters academic growth, social development, and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student
- Provide direct instruction, small group support, and one-on-one guidance to students as needed
- Collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, and other professionals to ensure seamless student transitions and support
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and data analysis to inform instructional decisions
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in special education, including research-based strategies and technologies

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in special education or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- MSDE certification or eligibility in special education and appropriate grade band required; Art and Physical Education teachers require MSDE certification or eligibility in content area
- Two or more years of experience in a special education setting or working with emotionally disabled students or children with autism preferred
- Knowledge of IDEA and its applications to educating students with special education needs and emotional disabilities preferred
- Bilingual abilities a plus
