Job Summary

Cameron County is seeking a skilled Medication Aide to join our team in the Detention Center. As a Medication Aide, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective distribution of medications to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Distribute medications to assigned patients on a set schedule
  • Observe patients ingesting their medications and monitor for any adverse reactions
  • Verify medications are in transport containers and transport them to the appropriate facility
  • Document time, place, and any observations or reactions
  • Notify charge nurses of potential problems and assist with monthly inventory of prescription drugs
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred one (1) year of experience in medication administration and/or patient care work in a clinical setting
  • Texas medication aide certification required
  • Valid Texas Driver's License
