About the Role

Children's Wisconsin is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our Clinical Resource Unit (CRU) as a float pool staff member. As a Nursing Assistant, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to patients and families in various inpatient units, including acute care and critical care areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care and support under the direction of a registered nurse, including vital sign monitoring, hygiene, and physical care.
  • Assist with patient treatment and procedures as directed by the RN or physician.
  • Measure, document, and report physiologic data and observations made of patients or families.
  • Provide personal care to patients, such as feeding, toileting, bathing, positioning, and ambulation.
  • Obtain and transport medications and hand-deliver to the designated nurse or prescriber.
  • Answer patient call lights, prepare patient rooms for admissions, change bed linens, distribute/collect dietary trays, and transport patients under the direction of the RN.
  • Maintain department supplies and equipment needed for patient care.
Requirements
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic calculations at a level preferably acquired through completion of a high school education or equivalent.
  • Currently registered with the State of Wisconsin Registry for Nursing Assistants/Home Health Aides to be eligible for employment in the basic provider settings plus federally certified home health agencies and hospices.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certifications are not required to be renewed after hire.
  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
