Job Title: Class A CDL Driver

This position will support the mechanical department by driving a truck locally in Ohio, transporting materials and equipment to specific construction job sites. The successful candidate will perform the following duties:

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Verify and secure loads.
  • Inspect the truck for defects before and after trips and submit a report indicating the truck's condition.
  • Drive the truck to assigned destinations.
  • Operate a crane when required.
  • Assist workers in unloading and loading the truck when necessary.
  • Maintain the truck log according to state and federal regulations.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses, etc.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle.
  • Convey materials and items from receiving to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence.
  • Fulfill work orders or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items.
  • Maintain inventory records.
  • Maintain cleanliness for the shop/warehouse/storage yard/parking lot/offices as needed.
  • Utilize a tow-behind trailer to make deliveries and pickups.
  • Deliver and pick up permit applications, permits, and approved drawings.
  • Be able to work overtime and off-hour shifts as required.
Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 2 years of driving experience is required.
  • Possess a crane operator license or be able to obtain one is a plus.
  • Vocational or industry trade school is a plus.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card is required.
  • A valid driver's license with a driving record that meets or exceeds Company standards found in the Fleet Policy is required.
  • Must hold a current Class A CDL License.
  • Previous experience operating a forklift is required.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds is required.
