Role ResponsibilitiesThe intern will engage in various laboratory practices and gain hands-on experience with different analytical techniques and equipment, adhering to established standards and methodologies for testing active ingredients in finished products.
- Conduct routine and specialized analyses for raw materials, in-process solutions, stability studies, and final products. This includes, but is not limited to, identification tests, refractive index measurements, density assessments, viscosity evaluations, pH testing, visual inspections, quantitative analyses, and impurity examinations. Key instruments utilized will include HPLC, GC-FID, FT-IR, and automated titrators.
- Receive training on and operate essential measurement and testing equipment to fulfill laboratory objectives and specifications. Candidates should possess foundational skills in sample preparation, basic statistical data analysis, and manual titration techniques.
- Participate in the development, validation, and implementation of new analytical methods and enhancements to existing procedures.
- Explore basic formulation chemistry by contributing to the creation of over-the-counter pharmaceutical topical products, improving existing formulations during production or while developing new products.

The position will be based in a laboratory and office setting with a moderate noise level.
Physical DemandsResponsibilities may require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, prolonged sitting, and various physical activities such as standing, walking, and reaching.
Expected Work HoursThis role typically requires a commitment of 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Educational Requirements- Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field, with a strong interest in analytical and instrumental chemistry.
- New graduates within one year of obtaining a bachelor's degree in Chemistry are also encouraged to apply.
- Senior-level candidates or recent graduates with graduation dates between May 2023 and May 2025 are preferred.
