Job Summary:

The LPN II plays a vital role in the implementation of nursing care for assigned patients at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System. This position assists the Registered Nurse (RN) in the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of nursing care, utilizing advanced skills in patient care after education and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the RN in the assessment, planning, and implementation of nursing care for assigned patients.
  • Utilize advanced skills in patient care, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
  • Thirty (30) hour IV certification.
  • Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 90 days of hire.
  • OB/Neonatal Certifications obtained during employment, including Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification, Maternal-Newborn Nursing Certification, Low Risk Neonatal Certification, and Lactation Certification.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
  • FL LPN: Florida Licensed Practical Nurse
