Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN with a focus on the Operating Room (OR) to join our team at Glenbrook Hospital. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care in a dynamic surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position/Specialty: OR RN
  • Shift Patterns: Various shifts including 7-3:30 M-F, 7-5:30P with one day off TBD, 9-5:30P M-F, 7-7:30P M, W, F, and 11-7:30P M-F
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1 for all shifts, managing 16 rooms and beds
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role
  • Weekend Commitment: On-call for 2 weekend days every 6 weeks
  • On-call Requirements: Vascular and General Call for 8-9 shifts every 6 weeks
  • Floating: Potential to float between Cardiovascular Institute and Main OR as needed
  • Local Candidates: Accepted without radius restrictions
  • Licensing: Must possess an active IL license
  • Time Off Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
  • Guaranteed Hours: Client may cancel 1 shift per month without compensation for the cancelled hours
Special Requirements

Experience in vascular and ophthalmology procedures is essential, along with general OR experience. Preferred qualifications include CVOR and Hybrid OR experience.

Certification and Skills
  • Required Certifications: BLS required; CNOR preferred
  • Required Surgical Experience: Endo/Laparoscopic, General, Ophthalmology, Urology, Vascular
  • Vascular Skills: Experience with various vascular surgeries including Aneurysm repairs and Angioplasty
  • General Surgery Skills: Proficiency in procedures such as Appendectomy and Cholecystectomy
  • Ophthalmology Skills: Experience in Cataract surgeries and Eye trauma management
  • Urology Skills: Familiarity with Cystoscopy
  • Equipment Proficiency: Knowledge of Electrosurgical units and Fiber optic light sources
Professional Knowledge

Understanding of blood product administration, cardiac monitoring, infection control, and universal protocol procedures is crucial for this role.
