Maintenance Supervisor Job Summary
Maintenance Technicians in preventive, predictive and corrective activities are required to ensure the complete availability of plant equipment and systems. The Maintenance Supervisor is a working lead who prioritizes, coordinates, assigns and confirms the completion of maintenance staff tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures a safe working environment for all employees through identification and elimination of safety risks, and enforcement of all safety policies and procedures, targeting zero accidents
- Supports General Plant Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense Initiatives and Good Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are top priorities
- Ensures production lines and all processes meet safety, quality and operational standards
- Promotes positive employee relations, through addressing and resolving concerns, and creates a culture of respect, teamwork, collaboration and accountability
Key Tasks:
- Effectively troubleshoots, diagnoses and corrects equipment malfunctions for timely restarts based on observation of machinery and applying knowledge from past experience
- Repairs and maintains machinery and equipment in accordance with diagrams, operational manuals and manufacturing specifications
- Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with all company safety and established procedures for machine activation and shutdown
- Interprets specifications, blueprints and job orders to maintenance team as needed
Working Conditions:
- Able to work in variable temperatures (70 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit)
- Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision and color vision
- Able to hear and distinguish machinery noise and audible alarms
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to five years of maintenance experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of continuous flow manufacturing processes, procedures and machinery
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong sense of urgency
Education:
- Associate's Degree or certification in technical field
- Experience in use of PLC's, VFD's and HMI's
- Previous technical leadership experience
- Continuous Improvement, LEAN, TPM, AM, PM experience
