Position Overview

This role involves collaborating with the Food Service team to prepare healthy and appealing meals for students and staff, while ensuring a clean kitchen and dining area in compliance with health regulations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Food Service Substitute, your essential duties will include:

  1. Adhering to and understanding relevant district policies and procedures.
  2. Assisting in meal preparation, including planning, cutting, cooking, and assembling food items.
  3. Setting up serving lines and distributing food to students and staff.
  4. Monitoring and recording food temperatures accurately.
  5. Maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment.
  6. Responding to changes in food production and undertaking additional tasks as needed.
  7. Cleaning dishes and operating kitchen equipment in accordance with sanitation standards.
  8. Properly setting up and storing food service equipment.
  9. Cleaning and sanitizing designated areas and equipment.
  10. Rotating and stocking food supplies during delivery.
  11. Following all safety and sanitation regulations related to food handling.
  12. Upholding high standards of personal hygiene and grooming as per sanitation codes.
  13. Managing student accounts, including processing lunch tickets and maintaining accurate records.
  14. Assisting in ensuring quality and portion control of meals served.
  15. Maintaining necessary certifications and training hours as required.
  16. Engaging respectfully with students, staff, and parents, and resolving conflicts professionally.
  17. Demonstrating regular attendance and punctuality.
Qualifications:

Applicants must complete the online application process. A Food Handlers Card is required, and successful candidates will be reimbursed for the card fee. A High School Diploma or GED is necessary, along with fingerprinting upon a tentative job offer.
