Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Carle Health. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiological procedures utilizing various imaging equipment to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiographic procedures by acquiring and processing patient exams in accordance with accrediting bodies and/or manufacturer guidelines.
  • Review cases with the radiologist when appropriate and review labs and patient history to perform correct exams.
  • Administer IV contrast and oral/rectal contrast when necessary and recognize and respond to any adverse reactions or allergic reactions.
  • Responsible for reviewing radiology orders for completeness and accuracy and reviewing patient history and supporting clinical data for medical necessity.
  • Transfers and verifies image data in PACS and provides necessary medical history and information for Radiologist interpretation.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and workplace environment, including maintaining supply inventories and orderliness of work area.
  • Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety and report safety events immediately.
  • Assist in instruction of students and new staff as necessary and may perform duties of Rad Tech Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology.
  • IEMA Radiography License Illinois upon hire and Radiography (R)(ARRT) within 1 year.
  • Positive attitude and demonstrated willingness to assess and improve work environment.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow and a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative.
