Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Family Medicine Clinic at THD. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and education, triage patient calls and messages, and support the clinic's operations.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, implement, and record patients' responses in the medical record.
  • Schedule patients' appointments, tests, and procedures via our online system or telephone, and reinforce physician instructions in person and through telephone contact.
  • Provide patient education and document patients' responses in the medical record.
  • Ensure appropriate patient consents and authorizations are obtained for research and/or medical treatment.
  • Triage patient phone inquiries according to physician and/or departmental protocols and document such actions in patients' medical records.
  • Provide working supervision and delegate tasks to licensed vocational nurses, non-licensed medical staff, or office support personnel.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record documentation.
  • Participate in the recommendation of policy and/or procedural changes according to nursing expertise.
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during physical exams and medical procedures.
  • Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by physician.
  • Inspect equipment and facilities visually and physically to ensure patient safety and proper functioning of equipment.
  • Maintain adequate stock of supplies as required for work area.
  • Attend and participate in meetings related to clinical activities.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program.
  • Licensure as Registered Nurse by Board of Nurse Examiners for State of Texas.
  • One (1) year of clinical nursing experience is preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through a course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is required.
