Overview:


Delivers direct patient care to a designated group of individuals, evaluates, and implements the patients' care plan for a specified duration.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Administers medications in accordance with the scope of practice and institutional policies.

2. Assesses, evaluates, interprets, and documents the physical and mental condition of patients.

3. Communicates patient status effectively with other healthcare professionals.

4. Collaborates in the development and coordination of the patients' care plan with all healthcare team members.

5. Performs and assists with medical and nursing procedures as required.

6. Provides essential health education to patients and their families.

Minimum Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Comprehensive understanding of various medical equipment.

- Strong oral and written communication skills along with critical thinking abilities.

- Proficient in administering medications according to established policies.

- Familiarity with National Patient Safety Goals.

- Ability to interpret laboratory and diagnostic results in relation to patient status.

- Competence in communicating with all disciplines using the SBAR technique.

- Capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

- Demonstrates a courteous, compassionate, and positive demeanor in support of the organization.


Key competencies include: Clinical skills, Bedside manner, Infection control, Nursing proficiency, Physiological knowledge, Medication administration, Team collaboration, Multi-tasking, Active listening, Verbal communication, Health promotion, and maintenance.


Certification Requirements:
ACLS for Emergency and Intensive Care Units; BLS for Medical-Surgical Areas; College Diploma in Nursing is mandatory.

Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.

College Diploma in Nursing is required.

A minimum of 2 years of experience is necessary.

Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license.

Certification in Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation is required.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications:

Contributes to departmental operations by maintaining equipment; fulfilling preventive maintenance requirements; adhering to manufacturer guidelines; troubleshooting issues; coordinating repairs; managing equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques; and ensuring nursing supplies are adequately stocked by anticipating needs and utilizing resources effectively to achieve job outcomes.
