Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at CPChem Port Arthur Plant. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing protection of work sites, personnel, and assets from events such as assault, theft, vandalism, harassment, and other disruptive incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide security services to CPChem Port Arthur Plant, including patrolling the facility, monitoring CCTV cameras, and responding to security incidents.
- Conduct searches of vehicles and personnel, and enforce security policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other security personnel and plant staff to ensure a safe and secure work environment.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents, and provide first aid and CPR as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of security incidents and activities.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Military, law enforcement, or security experience required.
- Possess a Level II Non-Commissioned Security Officer certification in accordance with Texas rules and regulations.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to proficiently speak, read, understand, and write English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a refinery or plant.
- Experience working in the oil and gas industry.
- Certified in First Aid & CPR, refinery safety standards.
- Conversational Spanish.
Working Environment:
The Security Officer will work in a confined workspace, such as a security guard post or patrol vehicle, for extended periods of time. The employee will be required to work in a refinery and railyard setting with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.
Physical Demands:
The job requires routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items up to 50 lbs. The employee will be required to successfully complete a functional capacity exam.
