Staff Dentist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Dentist to join our team at Santa Rosa Community Health. As a key member of our dental staff, you will provide clinical dental services and preventive care to our patients in a community health center setting.
Under the general direction of the Dental Director, you will be responsible for examining patients, diagnosing dental/oral conditions, and prescribing and carrying out appropriate treatment. You will also supervise dental assistants, hygienists, residents, and students as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of primary dental care in outpatient settings and be able to work effectively in a team environment. Key Responsibilities- Examine patients and diagnose dental/oral conditions
- Prescribe and carry out appropriate treatment
- Supervise dental assistants, hygienists, residents, and students as needed
- Provide assessment and management by risk assessment (CAMBRA) for children
- Record patient-dentist transactions in the patient's dental record
- Complete referrals, data collection, and other records as required
- Educate patients on oral health-related conditions and disease prevention
- Participate in dental staff and center committees as assigned
- California Dental License
- NPI number and DEA registrations
- Current CPR (BLS) certifications
- ACLS preferred
- Completion of an accredited general practice residency program preferred
- Two plus years of community clinic experience preferred
The Staff Dentist will work in a fast-paced community health center setting, providing clinical dental services to patients of all ages. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and provide high-quality care to patients with diverse needs.
The Staff Dentist will also be required to use standard office equipment and access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with patients and staff, and provide clear and concise instructions.
