Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Corewell Health. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing accurate and efficient diagnostic exams in all areas of general radiology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify patient identification and physician orders to ensure accurate and efficient diagnostic exams.
  • Acquire and document patient histories in the medical record.
  • Monitor patients during procedures to ensure patient safety and well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and peers to ensure seamless operations.
  • Operate diagnostic imaging equipment with proficiency and follow policy for malfunctions or quality control failures.
  • Minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and self by adhering to ALARA standards.
  • Provide procedural information and education to patients and families prior to each exam.
  • Assist in the training of students and new hires.
  • Maintain competency in all assigned areas, including fluoroscopic, general diagnostic, orthopedic, and operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited radiography program.
  • CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist within 180 days of hire.
  • CRT-Radiographer (R) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist upon hire.
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or ARC American Red Cross upon hire.
