As a CEI Project Manager, you will supervise the work of technical staff involving engineering analysis, highway design, structural design, maintenance, construction, and traffic engineering. You will act as the team leader of an inspection staff and engage in the performance of professional engineering work. You will be responsible for successful delivery of scope, schedule, and budget of assigned construction projects and you will represent the customer before the public and other governmental agencies.
Key Responsibilities- Business Development: Grow the Horrocks Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) practice in the Texas and TxDOT markets.
- Strategic Partnerships: Participate in Texas leadership to develop strategic partners, develop teaming partnerships and markets and strategically position CEI department for upcoming RFP's and project assignments.
- Project Management: Project management, interfacing with the client, contractors and subcontractors.
- Quality Control: Monitor, coordinate inspector's activities (civil, structural and materials testing) as well as project quality standards while reporting on all schedules, budgeting and other pertinent project management requirements.
- Team Management: Manage and coordinate with field staff.
- Client Liaison: Serve as liaison to the project clients.
- Contract Review: Inspect contract documents to make sure they are compliant with standards and specifications.
- Engineering Analysis: Analyze engineering-related data and test materials, review plans.
- Issue Resolution: Take notes on project operations, and resolve any issues that mitigate delays to contractor's/project's progress.
- Deliverables: Timely delivery and/or quality of deliverables.
- Communication: Effectively communicates and coordinates work with contractors, subcontractors, utility owners, and property owners to minimize delays and disturbances while maximizing the progress of the projects.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: 5+ years of CE&I experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certifications: Active Professional Engineering License (PE), ACI Concrete Testing Field Tech, ATTI Field Tech, ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor, Erosion Control Coordinator (SWPPP).
