Diagnostic Medical Sonography Internship Opportunity

About the Role:
St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Diagnostic Medical Sonography Intern to join our team. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment and develop your skills in diagnostic medical sonography.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist sonographers in setting up ultrasound examinations and procedures
- Transport patients and supplies, prepare the room for procedures, obtain patient history, and clean equipment and transducers
- Assist staff Radiologists and Physician Assistants in preparing for invasive procedures, setting up trays using sterile techniques, and gathering necessary supplies and paperwork
- Transport laboratory samples to the lab following procedures
Requirements:
- First or Second year student of an ARDMS CAHEP accredited diagnostic medical sonography program
- Current CPR certification required
- History of computer usage experience required
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
Frequent use of fingers and hands to operate equipment, pull x-ray folders, and chart information. Walking or standing for up to 8 hours per shift in 30-minute increments. Pulling, pushing, and lifting patients up to 300 pounds with assistance. Listing and moving objects of up to 30 pounds. Frequent stooping, crouching, and bending. Frequently lifting arms above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to normal vision.
