We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team at Vera House Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and participating in full-cycle A/P, A/R, posting/reviewing of GL, managing monthly credit card statements, and other general accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and staff credit cards.
- Support the monthly closing process and ensure accurate financial records.
- Assist with annual audits, including researching, compiling, and verifying required documents.
- Complete 1099-Misc and other tax forms in a timely manner.
- Manage in-kind donations and track transit pass program distribution.
- Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.
- Provide general accounting support and work on special projects as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and managing files and records, and other office procedures and processes.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and financial accounting systems.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; adaptability to demanding situations and working well under pressure.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, plan, and organize work.
- Must be skilled in handling sensitive and confidential situations/information with the demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Proven ability to demonstrate a highly professional demeanor; ability to work successfully with a wide variety of constituents including donors, and professional consultants.
- Experienced with balancing multiple assignments and following standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Ability to manage projects from implementation to execution.
Vera House Inc. provides a competitive salary range of $21.00-$23.00 per hour/non-exempt. We offer a dynamic and inclusive work environment, flexible schedules, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
