Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be involved in:

  • Creation and revision of 3D CAD models and drawings for components and assemblies.
  • Reverse engineering to develop 3D CAD models and drawings for batteries and associated equipment.
  • Providing daily support for the Engineering Department through battery teardowns and component inspections.
  • Reviewing technical documents for accuracy, including drawings and Bills of Materials.
  • Collaborating with factory personnel and suppliers to communicate engineering modifications and sustain engineering efforts.
  • Conducting dimensional inspections of parts and assemblies and documenting findings.
  • Updating and developing Excel spreadsheets for engineering analysis and cost estimation.
  • Enhancing computer systems for improved efficiency.
  • Offering technical assistance to team members as directed.
  • Reporting on the status of assignments and projects.
  • Contributing effectively as a team member and developing an understanding of collaboration with engineering support personnel.

Basic Qualifications
The ideal candidate should be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution. Proficiency in 3D SOLIDWORKS/AUTOCAD (or equivalent) is required, along with a strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Working Conditions
This role primarily takes place in a laboratory setting dedicated to the development and testing of lead-acid and lithium batteries. Responsibilities may involve direct interaction with batteries and their components, including some testing in high-temperature environments. Candidates should be prepared to handle large batteries and lift weights up to 40 lbs.
