Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Specialist to join our team at Commercial Fire Protection, Inc. in Portland, OR.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Repair and service commercial sprinkler systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
  • Install new sprinkler systems, retrofits, tenant improvements, and residential dwellings while adhering to blueprint specifications, building codes, and quality control measures.
  • Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and technical documents to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 13, 13R, 13D, 14, 20, & 25 is essential for ensuring code compliance and best practices.
  • Knowledge of pipe materials, including steel, CPVC, C-900, and ductile iron piping, is necessary for installation and maintenance tasks.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficient in installing sprinkler mains and line piping using various materials (Sch. 40 & Sch. 10 black and/or galvanized pipe and fittings, CPVC pipe and fittings) per blueprint specifications.
  • Able to install a range of sprinkler systems (Wet, Dry, Deluge, Pre-action, Fire Pumps) according to blueprints, specifications, and building codes.
  • Experienced in installing valves, devices, and trim for system risers, alarm valves, dry pipe valves, Pre-action valves, and Backflow Prevention devices.
  • Skilled in installing sprinkler heads for diverse applications per blueprint and knowledge of applicable sprinkler codes.
  • Proficient in operating Pipe Threaders, Groovers, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and CFPs Safety Standards is crucial for maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to perform physical labor, lifting equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs, and working in unusual positions (climbing ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment).
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills using NFPA code and provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain a valid drivers license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Pass a pre-employment background check.
Compensation and Benefits

Our competitive compensation package includes a salary range of $75,000 - $110,000 per year, paid medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401k plan, life insurance, pet insurance, paid time off, holidays, and opportunities for career advancement.
