Job Summary:

The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within a high-volume foundry. This role ensures that all equipment, machinery, and facilities are functioning at optimal levels to support production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Oversee the repair, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of all foundry equipment, including furnaces, molds, cranes, and sand systems.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with company safety protocols, OSHA standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor and manage the maintenance budget, including labor, materials, and external vendor costs.
  • Work with external suppliers and contractors to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of parts, services, and repairs.
  • Coordinate and lead immediate repairs during equipment breakdowns to reduce production downtime.
  • Participate in initiatives to improve operational efficiency, including equipment upgrades, layout improvements, and process innovations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, equipment performance, and safety compliance.
  • Provide ongoing training and development for the maintenance staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of maintenance experience in a foundry or heavy industrial setting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficient in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with familiarity with foundry-specific equipment highly preferred.
