As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and experience in accordance with our guiding principles, HIPAA, and applicable federal and state laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical and Administrative Duties
    • Perform and complete assigned clinical and non-clinical tasks, responsibilities, and assignments in the back office.
    • Adhere to and follow procedures for immunization and medication administration, including labeling, storing, and utilization.
    • Collect specimens, process, and document results in the electronic health records (EHR).
    • Fulfill provider orders within scope of practice and provide patients' discharge instructions.
  • Patient Care and Support
    • Interview patients to obtain reason for visit, history, and chief complaints; perform vital signs and other patient care needs, document the same to complete the patient intake process.
    • Identify and report any safety hazards or potential hazards by directly notifying supervisory staff immediately of concerns.
  • Administrative and Organizational Tasks
    • Maintain proper levels of supplies in exam rooms and prepare exam rooms for patient care and procedures.
    • Utilize and abide by proper charting and documenting procedures for all patient-related services, exams, interactions, and assignments performed.
    • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification
    • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • Graduate of a medical assistant program
    • Current CPR Certification
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Electronic Health Record experience
    • At least one year of previous medical back-office experience
    • Registered medical assistant (RMA) or certified medical assistant (CMA) credential
    • Bilingual (Spanish/English or Somali/English)
