Job Description

Weiss Construction is seeking a highly skilled Chief Estimator to join our esteemed estimating group at our Novi, Michigan headquarters. This high-profile position offers excellent growth opportunities and involves collaborating closely with our senior management team to develop comprehensive construction cost estimates for lump sum General Contract and Design/Build projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil/site work, including structural concrete, excavation and grading, structural/selective demolition, and site utilities.
  • Develop work scopes and solicit subcontractor pricing for necessary civil/site and architectural work on projects.
  • Collaborate with senior management to analyze project requirements and assess risks.
  • Utilize computer-based estimating tools and software to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in construction cost estimating, preferably within the water and wastewater infrastructure sector.
  • Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid and Primavera P6 software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and external partners.
